Dr. Silke M. Scholer
High School Principal
She was born in Frankfurt, Germany and grew up in Klagenfurt, Austria where she double majored in Literature and Psychology with a minor in Studio Arts. In 1991 she moved to Cochabamba, Bolivia, where she served the American International School of Bolivia (AISB) over 17 years in the capacities of IB Psychology, IB Spanish Literature and IB Studio Arts instructor, IB Coordinator and College Counselor and, Director General. In 2010 Dr. Scholer started her journey at SCCS as secondary and college counselor and, in 2013, high school principal. She completed two Masters degrees, in Education and Business Administration, several postgraduate programs in Clinical and Forensic Psychopathology and Higher Education, before finishing her doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology. As guest professor Dr. Scholer taught several courses in applied psychology, social intervention, human resources, emotional intelligence and, motivation and behavior at local universities in Bolivia. In 1997 she received the Award for the Promotion of Human Rights at the 10th Congress of the European Union, in 2000 the Award for Public Services from the Bolivian Ministry of Public Affairs, in 2003 the ECIS Award for the Promotion of International Education and in 2010 the Director’s Recognition for Educational Excellence by the National Association of Private Schools in Bolivia. Until 2015 she was also a member of the US College Board Scholarship Service Assembly Council.
