Dr. Eric M. Olsen
Dr. Eric M. Olsen is originally from Colorado in the United States. Eric graduated from Grinnell College in Grinnell Iowa with a BA in History and a secondary teaching certification. He has lived and studied in Costa Rica, and he also taught English for a year while living in Queretaro, Mexico. He received his MA and PhD in Educational Leadership and Organizations from the University of California, Santa Barbara where he also received his administrative services credential.
He has over 20 years of educational experience and has worked at practically every level of the educational system. He has served as a high school social studies teacher in California, where he was named the New Educator of the Year for his district. He worked as a research assistant at the Center for Effective Leadership and Effective Schools. He moved to the mountains of Colorado where he worked as an instructional coach in technology for Eagle County Schools before becoming an assistant principal for a K-8 school. Most recently he served as the principal of Red Hill Elementary for eight years. During this time he was also elected to serve as the President of the Colorado Association of Elementary School Principals.
His wife, Kristen, is the Dir. of Curriculum and Instruction at SCCS, and they are proud parents of two wonderful boys (Carter and Xavier) who attend SCCS in 2nd and 3rd grades.
