I have enjoyed working with young children for as long as I can remember. Over the years I have found my passion working in collaboration with children to experience the wonders of the world around us. Engaging in meaningful and integrated projects, thinking deeper about what makes a worm wiggle, taking a second look at a favorite book and experiencing a wild game of tag on a windy sunny day brings me joy. I look forward to the many adventures that teaching Kindergarten brings every year!
Prior to joining the SCCS staff in 2008, I taught preschool in La Paz for ten years, before moving to Santa Cruz in 2006, where I also taught Pre-Kinder at Saint George school for two years. At SCCS I worked at the Pre-K level for three years prior to beginning my teaching role as a kindergarten teacher in 2011. I am also a Lower Elementary coordinator since 2013 and I fully enjoy having contact with amazing teachers that are part of this team. I am originally from La Paz, where I graduated with a Degree in Early Childhood Education. I also have studied 7 semesters in Educational Science (Universidad Mayor de San Andrés). I have published studies for the Bolivian Government Program for Teachers (Profocom). I have also attended different courses with Buffalo SUNY University. I have also participated in the Readers’ Workshop in New York 2 years ago and it was amazing! I look forward to continuing to learn from all Professional Development courses offered at SCCS. I take great pride in my family who find joy in the important work they do within their areas of expertise every day. To me, kindergarten is the place to be!
