My name is Micah Salem. I am originally from Arkansas but I have called Santa Cruz home for many years. My husband is from Santa Cruz and we met at our university over 20 years ago. We have three children that attend SCCS; Hernan 16, Mercedes 12 and Lucas 5. That also means we have a child in High School, Middle School and Elementary! My parents visit Santa Cruz each year and we love to travel to be with family whenever we can. I love spending time with friends, family, baking and decorating my home for holidays. I studied Early Childhood Education at John Brown University and received my ESL and ELL Endorsement from Henderson State University. I have ten years of teaching experience in 2nd grade and this will be my fifth year to teach 1st Grade. I am proud to be a parent and an educator at SCCS! I want to be the best teacher I can be for each student. It is my goal to challenge my students daily, with learning that is meaningful, engaging, and purposeful.
