Shofita Baych
Band Teacher
My name is Shofita Baych and I am going to be the new band director at SCCS! I am originally from Chaska, Minnesota, USA. I graduated from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN with a Bachelor of Music in Instrumental Music Education. My main instrument is flute and piccolo, but I love playing all the different instruments. I also will be playing flute in la Orquesta Filarmónica de Santa Cruz de la Sierra!
I have a cat named Melog (as seen below) who came with me to Santa Cruz! We are so excited to explore the city. I am half Peruvian, so I can understand a lot of Spanish. It takes me a bit longer to speak it though, since I never spoke Spanish in Minnesota.
A fun fact about me is that I was at SCCS in 2019 visiting and helping out Mr. Salden and the band students. I am so excited to be back and teaching you all again!
